The collection of New Prints from “The Life of Others” Series are made from slide film materials being scanned mechanically overlapping each other, up to 9-10 layers, until the scanner can’t fit any more slides. During the process the scanner starting to be confused, not knowing on what to focus and it inventing its own colors (no photoshop used). The Series called “The Life of Others” since all slides are found material, they all from my collection of approximately 60,000 slides I have been collecting through the years, from America & Russia, Italy & China etc., from 40s through 90s, until the days when slides itself became technic of the past. The images in “The Life of Others” are the memories of many unknown to me people, it is representation of a Collective Memory. Did you ever had a moment when you were not sure if you met this person or went to this party in real life or you think you did, because you saw many images of this person/this event on the FB or another social media? I had. Collective Memory nowadays like never before interacts with our own memories and is becoming tangible part of our every day life.
